A total of 99 days of shooting brought this ambitious project from producer Hannah Leader and Toy Gun Films into post production. 4 feature length drama productions cover the unabridged text of all four Gospels from the New Testament in a way never seen before.
For the first time, four full length feature films tell the story of the life of Jesus of Nazareth, told from the different perspectives of the gospel writers, word for word, unabridged. This project shot throughout 2013 on Moroccan locations and sound stages shooting 2 x RED EPIC, bringing a really authentic feel yet contemporary style to these first century texts.
Media management is the biggest challenge facing the post production team with hundreds of hours of 5k raw footage, often a terrabyte a day and footage from many of the scenes used in different ways across the four finished films.
Love Film’s camera van provides support for the camera team and Avid MXF’s are created on site with LUT’s to compliment the scene. Media manager William Scothern then moves the rushes back to the moroccan base where scripts from each film are poured over to ensure the material is correctly logged.
Working from Macbook Pro Retina’s with 120TB of onsite RAID storage, scenes are then roughly assembled by myself, Will or Stephen Beard.
Once back in the UK, the rushes and rough cuts are transferred to our Avid suites, with a Facilis Terrablock providing centralised storage for months of offline edit work.
